Biography

Associate Professor George A. Papagiannopoulos received his Diploma, MSc and Ph.D. from the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras. He has authored 4 books (3 in Greek and 1 in English), 2 chapters in books (in English), 45 papers in refereed international journals and 58 papers in proceedings of international and national conferences. He has 799 citations and h-index of 15 per Google Scholar.

He currently serves as Director of the MSc program ‘Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Resistant Structures’ of the Hellenic Open University, teaching the courses ‘Dynamics of Structures‘, ‘Seismic Deisgn of Structures‘ and ‘Special Topics in Seismic Analysis and Design of Structures‘. His research interests include Earthquake Engineering, Analysis and Design of Steel Structures, Passive Control Systems and Applied Mechanics. During academic years 2013-2019 he served as Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras, where he taught the courses ‘Design of Steel Components’ and ‘Design of Steel Structures’.
