Abstract
The aim of the dissertation is the synthesis, characterization and evaluation of innovative catalytic systems for the production of high quality renewable diesel from microalgae oil. For this purpose, nickel catalysts supported on carriers such as ZrO2, CeO2, Ce1-xZrxO2-δ, will be synthesized by applying different synthesis techniques. Full characterization will be carried out in their calcined and reduced form and their performance in the conversion of microalgae oil to renewable diesel will be evaluated in a three-phase flow reactor (trickle bed reactor, TBR).
