Abstract
Exploration of environmental sensitivity of the public, in the city of Athens, will be achieved by conducting separate surveys regarding general and specific environmental issues. The surveys will be conducted at regular basis and focused on the variation over time, taking into consideration the socio-economic context.
Each year a general questionnaire will be collected and the data will be analyzed to show basic trends over time. Special questionnaires for specific environmental issues will be designed, collected and analyzed. These issues concern Athens citizens’ views on: (a) the annoyance of air pollution in winter and the corresponding mode of heating, (b) the urban solid waste management, (c) drinking water and water resources management and (d) structured environment and quality of life.
