Abstract
The main objective of the dissertation is the comparative study of the possibility of using energy plants and microalgae for the production of green diesel in Greece. Fresh vegetable oils are a renewable source of biomass, the use of which does not cause an environmental burden.
The process we will develop to convert vegetable oils to renewable diesel will be selective deoxygenation. As raw materials we will use oils form energy plants, such as rapeseed, sunflower and thistle as well as microalgae oils.
